Program: Understanding Schedule K-1 (the 1120S) and Shareholder Basis

Description:
Shareholders in S-corporations are responsible for keeping the information needed to calculate the basis of the stock which they own. Schedule K-1 provides information necessary to calculate the basis of S-corporation stock at the end of each corporate tax year. The basis of S-corporation stock must be adjusted annually to account for items of income, deduction, gain, and loss. Additionally, basis may be adjusted under other provisions of the Internal Revenue Code.

Program: Practitioner Ethics
Speaker: George A. Smith EA
Description:
Ethics are principles that govern the behavior of people while conducting an activity. Tax practitioners are governed by rules of ethical conduct and Due Diligence found in the Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Circular 230. During this session, practitioners will review Circular 230, Due Diligence requirements, and the preparer penalty provisions of the Internal Revenue Code.
